Koh Chang - Here we come!

Updated: Oct 14, 2018

Leaving Buriram was hard especially for Sticks. Buriram is her hometown and a lot of family and friends still live here. We also had a wonderful time spent with our hosts and good memories. An early flight didn't stop the whole family to join us in the car ride to wave us goodbye at the airport! Next time we'll stay longer, we promise!

Another Nok Air flight back to Bangkok and then taxi to Trat - a journey about 4 hours but totally worth comparing with bus. From Trat a short ferry transfer to Koh Chang and then taxi to the Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway.

Our goal with travelling to the islands of Koh Chang (and later Koh Mak) was just to chill by the the pool and ocean, eating good food, some SPA and relaxing a few lazy days so to speak. Koh Chang Island is the second largest and the biggest Island in Eastern Thailand with a lot to explore - hiking, waterfalls, elephants and other great stuff but we wanted the tranquility of just sieze the day and the resort sure was a perfect "hideaway"!

Day two we made the most of that idea - doing "nothing but everything at the same time"! Mercure Koh Chang Hideaway have an excellent pool and the ocean is just a few steps away.

We'll definitely return to this Island - in a couple of days in fact after a short stop at Koh Mak! But we felt that Koh Chang deserves our longer attention sometime in the future. There are some real paradise spots here we realized that should be a part of the Bucketlist of Sticks & Spoons!

After leaving the hotel we went to Bang Bao Boats at the village Ban Bang Bao for a speedboat trip to the next Island destination - Koh Mak!
