Din Tai Fung - Dope Dumplings
After so much good food in just three days we sure was ready for more! We absolutely adore Thai Cuisine but now it was time for dumplings and one of the better Dumpling Restaurants is located in Central World Shopping Centre complex, Siam on Rajdamri Road 7th Level. Tai Fung is a fast food chain founded over 40 years ago but a franchaise that have been named one of ten best restaurants in the world - by New York Times though but anyway! It has also recieved a Michelin Star so

Jay Fai - the Queen of Bangkok Streetfood with a Michelin Star!
We read a lot about Jay Fai in Bangkok Magazine Online and just had to pay a visit! Being acclaimed to be the most expensive Streetfood of Bangkok she surely had to have great food to bring to the table? And we were blown of the chairs! In a now iconic ski goggle outfit this 71 year young Lady makes totally food magic with just two woks! Spoons being a Chef was spellbound by the impeccable timing and the exceptional high standard of ingredient in the dishes while Sticks was a

Paste - a Passion for Heirloom and Traditional Thai Cuicine
Another Michelin starred restaurant we visited on our last leg in Bangkok of our Thailand Trip was Paste. The restaurant is a little bit "hard to find" as you have to go into the Gaysorn building on 999 Planchit Road and go to the third floor. An exclusively designed interior met us and we were seated on a big round table in the middle of the restaurant. Good! Because this was a "food coma 2.0" to come! We wanted to taste everything on the menu actually and get as much influ

A Morbid Museum and delicious Boat Noodles
We started out day two with breakfast at a nearby café before taking a taxi to Siriraj Medical Museum enjoying some Bangkok temples and shrines on the way. We love to visit museums that are a bit unusual when travelling like the Spy Museum in Berlin or Body Worlds in Amsterdam. The quiet bizarre, morbid Siriraj Medical Museum is also called "Museum of Death". Even due to the overwhelming exposure of macabre and detaileded parts of this exhibition it's still fascinating and in

Gaggan Progressive Indian Cuisine
During our Thailand Trip we have booked and eaten at a load of good, interesting, exceptional restaurants, we have found gems that we figuratively stumbled upon, we have found crazy-good streetfood and "whole in the wall"s but none by far have built up more exitement then the reservation we got from Gaggan. Gaggan Anand is a real cult figure in the restaurant world - an indian boy coming from a struggling and poor family ending up being renowned as the number one chef and Bes

Restaurant Bo.lan in Bangkok
Arriving to Bangkok again after the wonderful, lazy days on two of Thailands better islands! We just chilled on the hotel as a start, finding even more interesting things to do later on the web and letting our taste buds have some rest before our first restaurant visit at Bo.Lan! We found and fell in love with the story of Bo.Lan early while planning our journey to Thailand. Two brilliant Chefs in Duangporn Songvisava (aka Bo) and Dylan Jones meeting at Naam in London and ope

Chinatown, Old Town and Khao San Road Streetfood
Our fourth day in Bangkok and we went for Chinatown and The Old Town Area - or Rattanakosin in Thai. Strolling around local markets, streetfood stands and shops we found some gems along the way - for instance a foodstand close to Democracy Monument on Dinso Road were they grilled octopus. After a longer walk we ended up on Khao San Road - an infamous backpacker-falang-spot with a lot of street vendours and bars where we sat down for some more food and Chang Beer at The One. K

Shinsen Fishmarket in Bangkok
Second day in Bangkok we went to Shinsen Fish Market to eat some Sushi, Sashimi and Teppanyaki for lunch. Shinsen is one of these "foodies-must-visit" locations in Bangkok so of course we wanted to go there! The Fishmarket is located at Soi Sukhumvit 39 Klongton-Nua Wattana and after a long and varm walk from the Skytrain it felt nice to enter the air-conditioned market. Shinsen is devided in several zones where you can eat, drink, get fresh cooked seafood and steamed shellfi

Tasting Menu at Sra Bua by Kiin-Kiin in Bangkok
Second day in Bangkok and already the first of many planned restaurant visits and Foodie spots we want to check out. And why not start with something "close to home" but obviously not? We were exited to visit Danish Chef Henrik Yde Andersen and his restaurant Sra Bua by Kiin-Kiin! Sra Bua by Kiin-Kiin is by the way one of three Thai Concept Restaurant in the World runned by foreign Chefs who hold a Michelin Star (the other ones are "Nahm" runned by Chef David Thompson in Lon

Streetfood at Nana Plaza and Siam Square
After a couple of hours sleeping we were hungry again - belive it or not! :) Areas aound Nana Plaza and Siam Square are great spots to check out some local Streetfood and Street Vendors. Grabbing some juice and fresh fruit as you go is refreshing and a cheap way to refill your energy! You find these kind of Street Vendors everywhere. Just amazing! After our walkabout in Nana we ended up somewhere around Siam Square and grabbed a late night meal at a fastfood restaurant before

Jetlag and a "slow start" in Bangkok
Arriving in a cloudy Bangkok. This city is SO big! Spending 13 hours on an airplane and then being exposed to the city pulse can be tiring but we are so thrilled to be here! We checked in at Novotel Ploenchit Sukhumvit Hotel. With almost no sleep on our flight it would be tempting to take a Power Nap...however we discovered that we have a large area of streetfood and street vendors just around the corner so no time to waste! First a quick shower and then; Let's Eat! We kind o
