Where to Travel in 2019!

"We love to network with fellow Travellers! So we decided to make a whole Series of Guest Blog Posts from Travelers, Travel Writers and Travel Bloggers on different Travel Topics! This is the first collaboration and the questions asked was "Where should anyone Travel in 2019 and why?" We hope this little project will trigger that Wanderlust of yours! Enjoy!"

The French Antilles in the Caribbean

"Maybe the year 2019 would be the year of your first Caribbean experience? I encourage you to consider visiting this amazing region. In fact, some of the islands belong to the European Union, which makes them extremely easy to reach for Europeans. Let's say the French Antilles. Guadeloupe and Martinique are incredible islands which blend the Caribbean lifestyle and culture with French standards and traditions. The islands themselves, are perfect for family vacation, as well as an adventurous trip. In Guadeloupe, you can chill and relax on the gorgeous beaches just after climbing the highest volcano in the Lesser Antilles.

In Martinique, you will have the opportunity to swim in a charming bay with wild-living turtles right after an extraordinary savanna trip experience. So grab your Martinique or Guadeloupe complete guide and check out the flight tickets. Or maybe you rather prefer to visit both islands at one go? That is highly recommended!"

Israel with Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa

"This year, plan a trip to ISRAEL. This tiny country, which measures 424 km end to end and easily traversable by car, is an unexpected delight. My favorites are Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Haifa. Tel Aviv has everything for a great break without being overwhelming: historical marvels, beautiful parks, awesome food, a sun-soaked beachfront, a heart-pounding night scene. I’ll return in a heartbeat. The people are friendly and curious, very welcoming. The food on the street—Hummus, falafel, shakshouka—is simply out of this world! Jerusalem was everything I had read about and dreamed of. And I cannot wait to go there again. I close my eyes and even now conjure up images of the narrow cobbled lanes, the gleaming golden Dome of the Rock, the dolomitic limestone walls of the countless buildings around. Black hats, black coats, long beards, the kippah, the Tzitzit. It’s a subdued yet vibrant city, simmering on the surface, perceptibly religious, yet within a modern frame.

And lastly, beautiful Haifa, with the landscaped terraces of the Bahá'í Gardens and the gold-domed Shrine of the Báb, images that will stay with me for a long, long time. Don’t forget a trip to the Sea of Galilee, or to float in the Dead Sea, or get pretend-baptized in the Jordan river. There’s so much to do, you will be spoilt for choice!"

Milos Island, Greece

"Milos is a volcanic Island in the Aegean Sea which belongs in the Kyklades group of islands. The island is famous for the statue of Aphrodite (the "Venus de Milo", now in the Louvre), and also for statues of the Greek God Asclepius (now in the British Museum), the Poseidon statue and an archaic Apollo in Athens.

Also, Milos is known to have some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Greece with over 35 beaches on the island! Not Your Typical Greek Party Island, Milos offers beauty beyond Imagination.

Descent through a crack in the mountain into a Secret beach, swim in crystal clear waters and explore coves and remote, caves. Eat your way through the taverns, watch the spectacular pink and purple sunset, and stroll through the white stone houses with the blue fences.

Milos is a dream, the kind that only spectacular Greece can provide"

Family Travel Off the Beaten Track

"2019 is definitely the year to get off the beaten track. Over the years, we've been lucky enough to travel to over 100 countries all over the world. The ones that always stand out and stay with me are the more unusual ones.

If I had to recommend some 'areas' to explore in 2019 I'd say the little-known trio of Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana in the northwestern corner of South America. Great for foodies and rainforest lovers. Yes, you really can eat authentic Lao-style pho soup in Amazonia!

Next, the Balkan region makes a fabulous change to the high-tourist areas of Greece and Spain. We absolutely loved travelling around Montenegro, Macedonia and Kosovo with our young children. Hire a car and explore the area's natural beauty and surprisingly tasty food.

Finally, Taiwan. This is where we're planning our big trip this year. We hear that it's very family-friendly with some great national parks. Thanks to hipster bars in London, I'm a little obsessed with Taiwanese Bao Buns so can't wait to sample more!"

Beautiful Brussels in Europe

"Brussels was my favorite surprise while traveling in Europe. The minute I stepped off the train in city center, Brussels felt like home. After an hour of strolling down the cobbled streets, gazing up at the Grand Place, and sipping hot cocoa made of pure melted chocolate, I decided I could happily abandon my life back home and live in Brussels forever.

Brussels is centrally located, making it a convenient home base for your European travels. It’s small enough to walk everywhere but big enough to keep you entertained for several days. In one day, you could easily walk from a chocolate making class to a famous frite stand to a Trappist beer tour.

If you love history, architecture, and buildings decorated with jumbo-sized cartoon murals, Brussels is your place. If you have secret candy stashed all over your house because you love chocolate so much, Brussels will be your heaven. And if you appreciate a high-quality beer after a day of exploring, then you might not ever leave"
